Skillshare was founded in New York in 2010 by two veterans of the digital world Michael Karnjanaprakorn and Malcolm Ong. It offers more than 35,000+ courses (or as they say classes) and 5 million users, it is one of the most popular elearning platforms out there and focuses on classes for creative professionals and entrepreneurs.

Skillshare is an online learning platform with thousands of classes for creative people and entrepreneurs. Its topics include illustration, design, photography, video, freelancing and more. It offers a free trial on its premium plan for individual users that is either billed annually at $180 or monthly at $32. Skillshare also has plans for teams and Businesses that start at $159, per user a year. It’s 3 team plans, offer different packages to fulfill the needs of each team or business. Skillshare offers both Scholarships and Financial aid for eligible learners, and a refund is available on annual memberships within 7 days.
Who Is Skillshare For?
This elearning platform is aimed for professionals that want to develop new skills or improve existing ones. Since it’s focused on creative workers (e.g. designers, chefs, artists, etc.) and entrepreneurs (e.g. marketers or SEOs), freelancers or small businesses are the ones that will enjoy Skillshare the most.
However, if you are after some sort of formal education (or certificate), Skillshare won’t be a good match for you. For these cases, I would suggest you check Coursera out.

The Skillshare for Teams offers three different plans, the Starter, Enterprise. and Revive. Its team plans are designed to meet the needs of all teams and businesses, the Starter plan costs $159 per user a year.
- Starter for teams of (5-49) – $159 per user, billed annually
- Enterprise for teams of (20+) – a custom price, based on team size and needs
- Revive for teams of (50+) – a custom price, based on team size and needs
Skillshare for Teams Pricing
All Team plans are billed on an annual or multi-year contract. Its prices are per user, per year and are billed annually. Sadly, there is no monthly option.

Skillshare Scholarships
Skillshare offers different Scholarships ranging from 50% off a membership for College and University students to furloughed workers in the UK. If you meet the requirements, then you are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
The application process is pretty straightforward, all you need to do is add your name, email and explain why you are applying for the Skillshare Scholarship. You will then be notified via email if you are successful.
